Import your Valora address to MetaMask

Based on your Recovery Phrase, there are a few different ways to go about accessing your address with Metamask.

Note: If you have Celo assets, you will need to add the Celo Network and may need to manually add your assets. 

Please follow the steps that best describe your situation:

• My Recovery Phrase has 24 words.
  • Refer to Option 2.
• My Recovery Phrase has 12 words.
  • My recovery phrase is in English.
    • I have a Metamask account.
      Refer to Option 1 or Option 2.
    • I do not have a Metamask account.
      Refer to Option 3.
  • My Recovery Phrase is not in English.
    Please contact our Support team.

Option 1:

Reset your Metamask account, then import your Valora address using your Recovery Phrase. Make sure you write down your original Metamask Secret Recovery Phrase before you reset MetaMask.

Option 2:

Import your Valora address using your private key. 

If you have access to a desktop computer, you can retrieve your private key using the CeloCLI or Celo Terminal.  If you are only on mobile, please contact Valora support so we can assist you.

If you are having issues acquiring your private key, please refer to Option 1.

Option 3:

Download the MetaMask app (mobile) or browser extension (desktop) and import your Valora wallet using your Recovery phrase.
