CELO and Celo native stablecoins are tokens supported on the Celo Network. The two main differences between these tokens are function and price.
Celo native stablecoins track the value of their fiat counterpart. For example, the Celo Dollar (cUSD) tracks the US Dollar, and the Celo Euro (cEUR) tracks the Euro. Since they track a fiat currency, they are said to be 'stable.' They are also built for accessibility and ease of use when paying, saving, and sending funds from Valora.
Valora supports the following Celo native stablecoins:
- Celo Dollar (cUSD)
- Celo Euro (cEUR)
- Celo Real (cREAL)
- USDC
- USD₮
CELO is the native token and core utility, governance, reserve, and staking mechanism for the Celo Network. CELO holders can vote on how the Celo Network evolves and grows. CELO has a fixed supply and a variable value related to the total value of native stablecoins in circulation in the Celo ecosystem. Learn more about governance on the Celo Network.
